Escape to the countryside of Mid Ulster and immerse yourself in the warmth of Irish hospitality with Bronagh’s home-style cooking school. This unique experience blends hands-on cooking, traditional baking, and even seasonal foraging, offering a true taste of Ireland’s culinary heritage.

In Bronagh’s cozy kitchen, you’ll learn to bake soda bread, wheaten bread, and potato bread using family recipes passed down through generations. Foraging sessions take you outdoors to gather wild ingredients, which you’ll transform into delicious dishes, jams, sauces, and desserts.

Afternoon tea classes are also available, where you’ll create scones, soups, mini cakes, and treats, then sit down to enjoy a beautifully set tea with your creations. These classes are all about building confidence, removing the intimidation from cooking, and making food that feels like home.
 
What to Expect
 
Your experience begins with a warm Irish welcome and a refreshing drink, followed by a live demonstration of traditional breads such as wheaten bread, soda farls, and potato bread. Then it’s your turn to get hands-on: bake two traditional breads to enjoy and take home, using fresh, local ingredients.

After baking, gather around the table for a hearty Irish leek and potato soup served with your freshly baked breads. In autumn and winter, relax by the traditional turf fire for an authentic Irish touch.
All equipment, aprons, and recipes are provided, and Bronagh will guide you every step of the way. A complimentary glass of wine is served during lunch feel free to bring your favourite bottle along!
